Three Pass Steam Boiler – 3,000 kg/hr

P 1

Packman Company’s fire-tube steam boilers are designed in accordance with the European standard EN12953 as three-pass, wet-back boilers with an internal return chamber, achieving an efficiency of 86%.

(Three Pass, Wet Back, with Internal Reversal Chamber)

These boilers are manufactured with capacities ranging from 500 to 35,000 kilograms per hour and operating pressures of up to 30 bars.

The fire-tube steam boilers manufactured by Packman Company are constructed using seamless fire-tube pipes and heat-resistant carbon steel plates, conforming to the specifications outlined in the relevant standard. The thickness of these materials is determined in accordance with the operating pressure of the boiler.

Furthermore, these boilers are constructed from integrated network of firetube pipes and corrugated combustion chambers, with specifications compliant with the mentioned standard.

In the steam boiler manufacturing process at Packman Company, the most advanced methods of submerged arc welding (SAW) and flux-cored arc welding (FCAW) with automatic machines are utilized.

Additionally, in-process inspections, including welding inspection and non-destructive testing (NDT), are conducted on weld lines during manufacturing.

After the completion of welding operations and the mentioned inspections, necessary tests such as hydrostatic testing are conducted. As a result, all steam boilers from Packman Company will be equipped with standard plates at the time of delivery to the customer.

In the design of Packman Company’s three-pass firetube steam boilers, the smoke passes through the furnace three times. It starts from the boiler furnace, then returns through the second furnace, enters the tubes of the second pass, and finally, from the front door, it is transferred to the tubes of the third pass. The exhaust gas is directed towards the boiler flue after passing through the third pass tubes, which are located at the end of the boiler.

Horizontal steam boilers by Packman Company are manufactured in firetube and three-pass configurations according to BS-EN-12953 standard.

Steam boiler furnaces, according to standard specifications, are constructed in specified capacities using unique devices, in a corrugated form. In the construction of the furnace in a gate-like manner, skill in calculating and producing the depth and step of each projection is very important. Pakman Company, with over 50 years of experience in manufacturing steel boilers, has achieved expertise in this matter.

Boilers manufactured by Packman Company undergo stress relief operation according to the specified capacities and based on the mentioned standard and thickness. The thickness of which is determined according to the boiler’s operating pressure.

The boiler tubes are made of ST35.8 seamless steel, which is exclusively imported by Packman Company from European countries.

Heat-resistant pipes are welded using special equipment with the method of fusion welding (for welding the network).

Boilers at Packman Company are welded using sub-arc and flux-cored welding machines from Isab Sweden, and with electrodes from Isab, Geka, and Ama. Boiler welding is carried out by Packman company’s Quality Control (QC) group with precise supervision and according to specified Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS). All necessary tests, including UT (Ultrasonic Testing) or RT (Radiographic Testing), are performed on boiler welds.

It’s worth mentioning that inspectors from the Standards Department are permanently present at Packman Company (as resident representatives of the Standards Department), reviewing all necessary documents and tests. Upon delivery of boilers from Packman Company, standard plates will be provided, and if requested, documents such as WPS, PQR, etc., will be presented to the customer.
