Three-pass hot water boiler – 6,000 kilowatts

P 1

Packman’s fire-tube hot water boilers are designed according to the European standard EN12953 as three-pass boilers, with a wet back and an internal return chamber, achieving an efficiency of 86%.

(Three Pass, Wet Back, with Internal Reversal Chamber)

These boilers are manufactured with capacities ranging from 350 to 20,000 kilowatts and operating pressures up to 30 bars.

Packman’s fire-tube hot water boilers are constructed from seamless fire-tube pipes and heat-resistant carbon steel sheets, complying with the specifications of the reference standard. The thickness of these materials is determined according to the boiler’s operating pressure.

Furthermore, these boilers are constructed from integrated network of firetube pipes and corrugated combustion chambers, with specifications compliant with the mentioned standard.

In the manufacturing process of Packman’s hot water boilers, the company utilizes the latest welding methods including submerged arc welding (SAW) and flux-cored arc welding (FCAW) with automatic machines.

Additionally, in-process inspections, including welding inspection and non-destructive testing (NDT), are conducted on weld lines during manufacturing.

After the completion of welding operations and the mentioned inspections, necessary tests such as hydrostatic testing are conducted. As a result, all hot water boilers manufactured by Packman will be equipped with standard plates upon delivery to the customer.

Technical Specification for All Capacities

In the design of Packman Company’s three-pass fire-tube hot water boilers, the three stages of smoke passage start from the boiler furnace, proceed through the second furnace return, enter the second-pass tubes, and are then transferred from the front door side to the third-pass tubes. The exhaust gas is directed towards the boiler flue after passing through the third pass tubes, which are located at the end of the boiler.

Packman Company’s horizontal hot water boilers are designed as fire-tube and three-pass boilers, manufactured according to the BS-EN-12953 standard.

The hot water boiler furnaces are manufactured according to the specified capacities using unique machines and are constructed as corrugated to meet the standard requirements. In constructing corrugated furnaces, skill in calculating and producing the depth and pitch of each corrugation is crucial. Packman Company, with over 50 years of experience in producing steel boilers, has achieved this expertise.

Packman Company’s boilers, in specified capacities according to the mentioned standard, undergo stress relief treatment based on the thickness. The thickness of which is determined according to the boiler’s operating pressure.

The boiler tubes are made of ST35.8 seamless steel, which is exclusively imported by Packman Company from European countries.

Heat-resistant pipes are welded using special equipment with the method of fusion welding (for welding the network).

Boilers at Packman Company are welded using sub-arc and flux-cored welding machines from Isab Sweden, and with electrodes from Isab, Geka, and Ama. The welding of boilers is carried out under the strict supervision of Packman Company’s Quality Control (QC) team according to specified Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS). All necessary tests, including Ultrasonic Testing (UT) or Radiographic Testing (RT), are conducted on the boiler welds.

It is worth mentioning that inspectors from the Standards Department are permanently present at Packman Company (resident representative of the Standards Department) and review all necessary documents and tests. Upon delivery of boilers from Packman Company, standard plates will be provided, and if requested, documents such as WPS, PQR, etc., will be presented to the customer.
